Speaking as an ex-husband, if my ex-wife had listened to half the things I said, she wouldn't be an ex-wife. :-)

Being as there are two sides to every ex (X), I have filled many plastic gas cans and always do it full force until the end. There is some foam, granted, but it dies down so fast that I don't believe that it would make a difference in a vehicle gas tank. The difference in the amount you get in would be so small that if you were on a long trip and needed every minute you might go 10- 15 min longer per tank. Since I get almost 300 miles per tank at 65 mph, I am usually ready for a stop after more than three hours anyway.

So, I say give it your best shot and fill away! Glad you got the Vanagon, so did I!
