For the Westy owner that has everthing,

While tooling around sunny Greenville, SC (with my Confederate flags waving from my antenna) I noticed a 66 Westy at a used car lot. I stopped by and did a 5 minute appraisal. The salesman claims that it has less than 60K on the clock. The body is quite sound. The battery box appears to be original with only minor rust (potential purchasers check closely). The interior was very good, but many soft plastic parts were broken. Both front door vent window locks were missing. The exterior appears to be a non-authentic monotone gray, but there is no obvious body or rust damage. The salesman claims to have driven it to Charlotte, NC and back (about a 200 mile rt). I did not start it or see it run. It does have the original gas tank "key" and holder at the driver's door. Relatively new Continental tires, clean engine. As I am not a Westy owner, I cannot comment on the state of the camping gear. But the interior has what appears to be original wood paneling and the rest of the interior appears to be all there. The salesman claims that the top (small) lifts easily. All of the jalousie windows were in tact. The ignition/door lock key appears to be original.

Now the bad news. The asking price is $16,995. Yes. That price will separate the men from the boys.

If you are interested, call Quaid Gore at Corvette World and Southern Collectibles 864-288-3824 in Greenville, SC.

I will be glad to do further investigation for a fellow list member, but I cannot be held responsible for its condition.
