It is correct that DOT 5 silicone fluid does not absorb water. The reason that this is not recommended for any car, is that the water drops that may form in the lines will stay as water, and corrode the lines from inside. The DOT 4 fluid will absorb the water, and the risk of getting rust inside the lines is greatly reduced.
