The Refrigerator Fan has developed a squeal.... Anyone have a way to lube the fan without pulling the unit? Mine did the same thing so I decided to replace it. VW wanted $75 (ha, ha). I found the same fan at Radio Shack for $3 but the thing squealed too (it really is a cheap fan).

I went to an electronics supply house and bought a nice computer type fan (12V, in a little box, like the kind on the back of your computer). It now is silent as a mouse and has much better airflow. You must pull the fridge to replace it but as Brent says, you should do this anyway. It's not too hard, just got to bend the exhaust tube a bit to get it out.
