Subject: AutoStop LP fill Valve leak
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Folks, Over the last week, I removed the LP tank from our '88 Westy, stripped it, etched the rust off, painted with two coats of Eastwoods Corroless, and finished it off with several coats of White Rustoleum paint. I installed it this AM along with a new 390 regulator, and had the tank methanol purged and filled. When the fill hose was removed after pumping a whopping 2.3 gallons into the tank, propane sprayed out a small hole on the Auto Stop fill valve, the lower hole inside the fill fitting. This is not the autostop purge hole, but rather the hole where LP must flow when filling. The attendant rapped on the forward side of the Auto Stop fitting several times, and the leak stopped. Is there a spring loaded valve that got stuck? Could this be part of the mechanism covered by the small rubber cover? I had to re-glue this cover in place with rubber cement, do I need to clean the glue off and be carefull about adhering this cover in place? Next task, getting the fridge to light after a not being used for 3 months.

Thanks! Ezra
