It does expand when hot. I learned that the hard way, after I filled the tank on the Syncro once. The fuel was cold, after sitting in the tanks in the ground under the station (it was spring, last year), and I filled the tanks extremely full like always, the level was up in the neck. When I got home, the fuel was sligthly heated by the engine, and was spilling all over the rear fender.

You know, if the gasoline powered motor vehicle was invented and introduced today, in the form and function it has developed to, it would never been legal to own and operate such death machines. In this world's safety minds, it would be illegal to drive around in something that kills this much, literally fire bombs with all this explosive fuel, not to talk about how it damages the environment.
