These Prestone flushing tees work great, but the one I installed about five years ago cracked recently from old age. Fortunately it didn't separate completely and I noticed the drip and was able to fix the problem before it became a disaster.

So, replace these every four years!

Also, if you loop the hose you will be providing a low resistance path back to the engine that will reduce the flow of hot water to the front heater. You are not bypassing the radiator however, that is a completely different circuit and is controlled by the thermostat.

Contrary to common beliefs, coolant does start to circulate through the heater core(s) from the right side head as soon as the engine is started. This allows for quicker heating of the cabin with the thermostat closed as the coolant heats up during engine warm up.
