Subject: Ignition Coil
Content-Type: text/plain

I have an 88 GL 7 passenger van with I assume a 2.1 engine. Pulled the engine cover to look around and noticed a tar splash/drip area on the driver side wall under the ignition coil area. Its all wires in that area and I don't see any leaking from the engine so could the ignition coil be melting in some way? Any similar experiences or is this just a road splash of something from outside the car? An educated guess would be appreciated.
