I purchased my 83.5 Westy a year ago and the air conditioner works great (although I wish it was in the front of the car not the rear). The previous owner had it serviced when necessary. I would not remove it. - Mark Rissman 83.5 Westy -----Original Message----- From: Paul Rogers [mailto:WOGNACIOUS@AOL.COM] Sent: Friday, April 28, 2000 6:21 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: To AC or Not to AC
Howdy, I've been giving some serious thought to taking the AC out of my 85 Westy. I've never used it mostly because I bought my sweetie last fall and the weather hasn't warranted it's use yet. I've talked with the previous owners, and they were the originals, and they said even when it was new it really didn't work all that well. So my thoughts are why have the added drag on the engine and besides the extra cabinet space would be a most excellent place to mount a serious sound system. Anybody out there got any experienced advice on the matter? TIA, Paul 85 Wolfsburg Westy Weekender "Wolfie" She came with that name...really. |
