Good trick, but it wouldn't have helped me avoid the 55 gallon drum filled with concrete I backed into at a junkyard last year! Hit it square in the middle of the bumper, crushed everything in about 8" but was below the hatch. That's why I couldn't see it. Very ironic, I was buying a bumper for my son's Blazer at the time when I crushed mine. One of those parallax stick on wide angle view gizmos they sell in RV stores would have helped, but I still don't have one on, I guess I should. I was able to weld a hook onto the bracket behind the panel, chain it to a tree, and pull out most of the cave in, and with a new bumper and some paint it looks presentable. Someday I'll replace the panel, but that will wait until I repaint the whole thing. -- Stuart MacMillan Manager, Case Program 800-909-8244 ext. 8208 Fax: 206-269-6360 Getting your share of the Net yet? http://cobaltgroup.com http://UsedEquipNet.com |
