Hi Volks: This is from the msn site, and describes the new Subaru engines, for those dreaming of "More Power! in their Vanagons": "Subaru fans can rejoice. The automaker has finally taken the wraps off its upcoming 6-cylinder engine and put it into two new models unveiled in New York. The 2001 Outback H6-3.0 VDC and Outback H6-3.0 L.L. Bean Edition have the new, 212-horsepower horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Subaru noted the new engine produces more than the 165 horses of its longstanding, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, yet is only 0.8 of an inch longer. Torque in the new engine is 210 lb-ft at 4400 rpm.
