The exact position is not as critical as you might think as the vent
hoses are a little flexible. To get it right, take measurements from
another Westy. I have installed the fridge in a non-Westy this way
several times with no problem. I remove the outside vent parts from the
donor and then tape a sheet of paper over the hole on the outside. Line
the edges of the paper up with seams or lines in the body and tape it
down. Then use a pencil to rub along the cutout and mark the shape of
the hole and the screw holes. Remove the paper and tape it into the same
position on the Vanagon receiving the fridge. I then cover the whole
sheet of paper and the area around it with clear packing tape. This
protects the paint while you cut out the hole with a jigsaw. Use the
same process to install any of the utility outlets you are moving over.
