I agree, the Fridgemate fans work great and cost less. I have had one in my Syncro Camper for 5 years and it is still quiet. I have put them in several Westys as they are in stock at Camping World when I need them. I trim the bracket near the fan to improve airflow and reduce noise.

Additional fans are not needed in my experience but I have made one improvement that uses a second fan. Some people put in a fan to blow hot air out of the side vent in the fridge cabinet but not me. The last thing I want when I am camped somewhere hot is more heat blowing at the seat/bed. I put in a fan to exhaust the heat to the outside and this helps keep the inside cooler. First I install a new sink faucet that is much better than the stock unit. These have a swiveling head and you can vary the amount of water that comes out. There is no provision for the city water hook up but I don't use this anyway. I then use the city water access cover as the vent for the exhaust fan. When I want to use this exhaust, I prop the door open with a toothpick.
