Subject: a shocking question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

I recently replaced the shocks in my '85 Westy. There is now a rattle from the front shocks when I go over bumps. When I had the front ones out, I noticed a small insert for the rear facing hole in the lower spring bracket. In retrospect, I think this must be some sort of "rattle stopping" grommet. It may be thicker than the bracket and compress against the shock to stop it from moving around in the circular spring base. This is just a guess in after thought. I suppose I should have replaced them as well when I put the new shocks on. All of the other connection points seem to have some compression to them except the bottom of the front.

Any comments? Where would I get these little buggers if it is indeed what I need?

TIA, Jim in Atlanta.
