Doug, I've got a coolant diagram that Sean Poppelwell from CamelbackVW faxed to me for my 85 and it shows this part as indeed "bleeder connection valve" part #025121082 or 025121085A for an automatic (don't know the difference). Call him at 800.876.5199 and ask for Sean in wholesale parts (20% over wholesale for "internet orders"). He'll fax you the diagram if you want and see for yourself. There are a ton of parts on ths page! I've done moderate business with them and always had fair dealings and tolerable dealer only parts prices. Usual disclaimers. Hope this helps, Dave C.
