The definitive guidebook for driving in Alaska is The Milepost. If you are going to Alaska, you need it. If it's never occurred to you to go there, get this book and you'll want to! It has maps, gas/food/lodging information, and points of interest in amazing detail. Their website is: http://themilepost.com/ Usual disclaimers: no connection, ymmv, fwiw, etc. As a side note, is it just my imagination, or is there some mysterious force that draws Westies toward Alaska?
