Bob, I imagine you could splice a T into the copper propane lines that would allow you to hook up a portable propane tank.... but why would you want to do this? and.... remember the portables are not supposed to be used indoors near an open flame.... that's because they have pressure relief valves that could open... spewing propane out into the air!
