I was taking my saugter roller skating this morning and stopped at a friends house to pick someome one up and it refused to start. It was acting like it wasn't getting any gas. I loosened the return line and had fuel at that point. I was getting good spark at the plug wire connection. I pulled off each set of injectors and found that I had a decent spray pattern on each injector. I re-assembled it and it started, but was popping or backfiring. at idle. At higher rpms it ran ok, but had no power. I limped home at 25 mph and found the exhaust system and back bumper very hot. So far, I have replaced all of my fuel lines (I developed a leak when I moved the injector harness around), replaced the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, replaced the line to the brake booster, replaced the rotor, and spark plugs, and generally checked all of my electrical connections under the hood. I know replacing the parts wasn't part of the problem, but I just bought this vanagon and wanted to get it ready for summer vacation. I have fun out of ideas and am looking for some input.
