I have done this on my 74 Beetle. You must remove the guts, for the powdercoating process will melt some of that samll stuff, and get inot the locks and make them inoperable. Sandblast them, wipe them with a oil remover, and take them to your powder coat shop. It should be cheap, wspecially if you work with them on a black that they run for production all the time.
