Subject: Coolant hose ?

Did any of the original coolant hoses on 1984 Vanagons have a coil of wire inside of them to prevent the hose from collapsing? One of the hoses on my '84 has something inside of it. It is one of the large hoses on the drivers side of the engine. According to the common diagrams, it is P/N 025 121 103C, and it is called hose between bleeder assembly (return) and pump housing (upper).
