DrT!, Good to see you again. Even though I have teazed you occasionally, your imput on this list is very valuable. Your thoughts on the HP increase ring true with the articles I have read about air bag equiped cars. Things that make you feel more invincable are not always your friends. If you drive one of these waterboxed vans, drive it the way it was designed. Keep it tuned and running well and drive within the limitations imposed by the engineering staff in Wolfsburg. Is it a great design? Not in my opinion, but it sure is fun and allows me to haul my kids around... in relative safty. Take care and enjoy the life of summer up in your neck of the woods. tim o'brien Doktor Tim wrote: > > At 11:05 AM 05/07/2000 -0400, you wrote: > >Terry, > > > >I put one of those metallic/plastic childrens pinwheels on my antenna mast > >last week, and it spins like mad going downhill! > > > >Hope that helps. > > > > Yes, that can give just as much seat of the pants feel of improvement if > safety is considered at all important, at least more important than > overdriving your vehicle. > > Comparing a BMW inline 6 with a Wasserboxer is no less a comparison of > apples and oranges than comparing the newer Motronic systems with the > DigiJunk systems. > > Rule of thumb, increase of HP requires increase of combustion pressures > and/or capacity which produces increased heat.
