I seem to recall a recent post by Mark Drillock on this subject, and from his post it sounded like a MAJOR undertaking to mount a Syncro tank in a 2wd. Something about the height of the engine and transmission, etc. Brent Christensen '89 GL Syncro Westy "Klaus" Santa Barbara, CA -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM]On Behalf Of Bulley Sent: Wednesday, May 03, 2000 11:18 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Gas tank capacity
It is possible (with some shade-tree engineering) to mount the syncro tank into the 2wd body. Further, there are after-market tank co.'s that make box tanks that fit under you van floor. You could conceivably use un-used space in the interior of the van for a LARGE tank, and drive cross the USA non-stop. Maybe. G. I am getting about 250 a tank, and that just is not far enough. Any help is appreciated. Adam Puzerewski 81 westy |
