I clean the fridge with Lysol Direct (antibacterial spray & wipe cleaner) after each serious use (after a camping trip, but not after a picnic). That's not enough on it's own - the fridge would still smell bad after being closed up for a while, even when it was clean, and I couldn't find a convenient way to leave the door open a bit and still have the van drivable. About a year ago I added a "Fridge-It", which is a little 2" plastic hanging drum full of activated charcoal. $2.49 from Camping World. I leave it in the fridge all the time, and now have no more odors, even after leaving the fridge closed up for a long time. -Steven Sittser |
