Eric wrote: Do the chrome molding in the window seals server a purpose? Mine are all faded and greenish. Can I just pry them out and discard? Éric Reply: That chrome trim piece you speak of is actually the "locking bead", because it "locks" the rubber molding tight against the body channel and against the window glass as well. It does this by forcing the rubber seals away from the center and thusly tightly against the metal and glass at the same time. If you were to remove it you are actually loosening the rubber at both important joints. I actually have an old Snap-On locking bead tool, that has had many miles of locking bead run through it over the years. I hope this helps you folks somewhat. Jeff/Florida |
