After hunting for a good Subaru Engine for a KEP installation, I found a good source that I thought might help some others in their conversion efforts. Actually it was a Subaru mechanic friend of Karl Mullendores (thewestyman) that put us on to OCTAGON SPARES (717-244-5279). I've been to their place in Felton just south of York PA and was overwhelmed. They have 6 racks of three shelves each and about 40 feet long of just Subaru Engines. We simply walked up and down the isles until we found an engine that looked appealing. We bought a 40,000 mile engine for $600. We could have had even lower mileage if we had wanted. Most of the labeled engines were in the 90-100K mile range. The also keep a good supply of high mileage untagged engines. I dealt with Cory. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and quick. -Larry '86 Syncro Westfalia '86 Syncro Doublecab P.S. We have not yet tried the engine and I'll let you know how it runs later. |
