<< 2) My A/C has never worked --- it came with the compressor unhooked and since the compressor spins freely by hand I've always figured it was toast. My mechanic also has an '84 Westy (it's beautiful and has a Golf engine in it) but he doesn't have A/C. He asked me what I want for the back unit (above the bed) and the switch on the dash --- offering to swap me his non A/C above-bed cabinet into the bargain. Can someone give me an idea what these A/C parts are worth or is anyone else interested in these parts?? I'd been thinking of getting rid of the A/C anyway to get rid of the weight and gain the extra storage capacity. >>

the a/c units on the passenger vans arent worth anything..but the a/c units on the westys are. complete unit, with bad compressor, i'd say $200. US. a good compressor, add what the compressor is worth. chris
