I'm sending this to the list because I feel I did Daryl of AA Transaxle
a disservice with my earlier post.

I beg your pardon, Daryl.  I think I must have misread one of the
earlier emails on transmissions.  I thought it said that your
transmissions carried a one year warranty.  Please accept my apology for
passing on misinformation.

I also did not mean to get Bob in trouble either; he simply told me that
the transmission he had gotten from Rick had served him well.  I had
been considering used transmissions but was concerned about their
longevity, so I asked his advice.

In the end, if anyone on the list is considering these recommendations,
keep this in mind:  I have yet to even DRIVE a Vanagon, much less put
any considerable miles on a transmission rebuilt by any of the people
that Daryl mentioned.  Take the advice of people who have experience
with them . . .
