Subject: Inexpensive camp site or motel near Philly, PA? And trip report.
Comments: To: diesel@vwfans.com

Hi, I'm visiting UPenn for a few days this week. Does anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive place to stay (motel or campground) with a short/medium commute to the university?

Just came to MD from an eastern US/Canada circumnavigation. 4000 miles in 3 weeks. MD,NJ,NY,CT,MA,ME,NB,NS,ME,QC,ON,NY,PA,MD. Went from snow squalls at Fundy national park to spring in London ON! Only hiccup was on 401 approaching Toronto where I had to drain the fuel filter after a batch of watery fuel. (Could see the EGT gauge jumping up and down before the engine cut out completely)

Using a 10000 Btu kerosene heater with a home made vent kit. Sure appreciated the heater up in the maritimes! Keeping the upstairs bed folded out and stuffing clothes between it and the pop top helps to keep the heat in somewhat. 0C outside turns into 17-20C inside with heater on. Using Nighthawk CO sensor for safety, but don't sleep with the heater on anyway. (That's what down sleeping bags are for)
