Subject: Power Steering conversion quesions (my arms are tired)
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I would like to convert my non-power steering westy over to the Power-steering luxury. If I go to a junk yard and find a fine vanagon, can I pull the rack, hoses, pump and hardware and then go home and swap things the rack, add the hoses and pump and be done?? What are the hidden tricks to this, (I know they must exist!?)?

It's an 84, but can I use any year's set-up?? Any cutting to the body while running the hoses? Is the pump mount holes/studs in existance somewhere on a non-PS engine? I have the belt slot on the crank pulley, so there's a start. Any one tried this? How long did it take? Thanx!
