I know some people state that the speedometer "must" be 5% off. This may very well be true.

Here in Norway, one can not put on tires that are more than 5% greater, measured on the circumference, than the original tire size. I checked this, and the 27x8,5x14 is 3 mms off from being 5% greater than the 185R14. The guy at the DMV almost got mad, when he saw I could put these tires onto the Syncro :-), he thought they were too large!
