Yes, that can give just as much seat of the pants feel of improvement if safety is considered at all important, at least more important than overdriving your vehicle.

Comparing a BMW inline 6 with a Wasserboxer is no less a comparison of apples and oranges than comparing the newer Motronic systems with the DigiJunk systems.

Rule of thumb, increase of HP requires increase of combustion pressures and/or capacity which produces increased heat. How well will the Wasserboxer heads seal with the higher than stock pressures and greater cooling systems demand it was not designed to deal with??? How will a knucklehead screwdriver poker improve the design of the team of Neandereers upon whose foundation you rest?

Will extra horsepower mean you will stop pulling into the passing lane in wishful judgement of not killing someone?? Will that head seal blow under the greatest demand for horsepower you make trying to overcome your irrational passing procedure?

If contemplating your pinwheel acts as a diversion from the boredom of idling along behind a farm truck and stops you from commiting acts of danger, tis certainly a better way to go.
