Subject:      faulty starter wiring

The cause of all my starter woes in Chicago, apparently, was the idiot
switch in the gear selector mechanism (auto trans).  I have bypassed it for
now by simply jumping the starter leads that plug into the switch.
Ironically, it was the first thing I checked but even repeated "working" of
the shift lever did not consistently cause or eleviated the starter fault.


I got a new Bosch starter and better ground connections out of my trials!
