The ABS system on our Subaru was running non stop last night, so I unhooked it. Basically, there was a constant buzzing noise under the hood, which I traced to the ABS system. I unhooked the wiring into the ABS unit, and the noise ceased (I did this due to concerns about draining the battery). The brakes seem fine regardless. May I assume that the brakes will now function, but the ABS will not? And is the car generally safe to drive? I intend to have the ABS repaired (company car, not my beans), but the shop won't take it until Wednesday. I know this has nothing to do with Vanagons, but I thought you all might know anyway. Thanks. TJK -- |
