I find the concept of not being able to keep up with traffic baffling. My 84 with the 'new' engine from KenW to be more than adaquate for driving the 70 - 80 mph that consists of daily commute speeds here in the Bay area. Of course, the Sunol grade is a bit challanging but you hit it at 75 to 80 and you get to the top at 65. Still in 4th obviously. Now they can be driven a bit more conservativly but why does anyone need more power than this? For a rolling box. Iffum you need to scream, they make things called sports cars. Now my 83 AC, it had a problem keeping up with trafffic and not over heating. I thinks I have solved that and will let you know if this is so.
