Thanks to those of you who made suggestions, I corrected several problems with Smoky, my 84 Westphalia. it had been cutting out at irregular intervals. Well, installed a new ignition switch - that helped. Found a wire on the Hall pickup was broken so replaced that. Checked all vacuum hoses and connections. Checked and adjusted the two throttle position switches. Then - DISASTER - the airflow meter died. That was a very expensive failure. We'll be eating Kraft Dinner for months.;-( The sad part is, with all that effort and expense, Smoky still cuts out. Most of the time this occurs about 2100 rpm. Sometimes when pulling easily at 1600 rpm. Sometimes just coasting along around 2100 in third gear about 30mph. Sometimes it will quit when idling - usually just as the light turns green. The only common factor I can think of is that it happens at very low throttle settings. Any and all advice gratefully received.
