Subject: Stealth camping: Boston & beyond, was stealth camping IN NYC....

That nyc spot sounds great. I found a similar spot in
Boston. It's on the east side, right along the bay,
where Northern ave splits into new and old northern. I
camped on one of the expansive (but cheap) gravel lots
there within feet of the water. Watched the boats
pass all night, really beautiful. Great seafood within
an easy walk, and also a couple cruise boats, one I
took for a night cruise, calypso band, lots o dancing,
for only $16.
What I'd like to know is where else is good for
stealth camping & getting showers. My short lists
are:
Camping:
Random logging road (hopefully not in use)
Hospital lot (usually patrolled, never harassed, cheap
cafeteria nearby)
Walmart lot (with all the 30' rigs)
Behind a police station (not my favorite, but usually
safe)
Casino parking lot
Anyplace listed in the Free Campground Directory
I usually avoid truckstops & rest areas due to the
noise & crime.
Shower:
My van
Community swimming pool
Community college pool (walk in w/ a bookbag w/ your
towel in it, look for the locker rm.)
The airport at Shannon/Limerick, Ireland
