I guess it had to happen... I removed the cover of the heater under the rear bench (Westy) to find that it has been leaking coolant. Took the whole bench out (I won't mention the seized screws), cleaned everything, added a missing o-ring seal and replaced the rubber gasket inside the valve. Everything is spotless and tight now. BUT the felt-like board on the right (passenger's) side of the heater is soaked with coolant to a point of no return. What is my best source for this material (is it sound proofing material? insulation? both?). I check the local hardware store with no luck. They only have a material that is half the thickness and not as dense. (FYI dealer can't get the part anymore - discontinued) Thanks, Éric |
