    First, that was rude, mean-spirited, and uncalled-for.  "Doktor Tim" does
write with occasionally infuriating condescension and/or smugness.  However,
it does not seem to be intended personally -- it is just part of his writing
style.  And, whether or not you agree with his point of view (I don't always,
either), he has put a great deal of thought into it.  If you disagree, please
feel free to post your dissenting opinion, along with whatever constructive
criticism you wish to add.  Personal insults add nothing to the discussion or
to the Vanagon community.  If you really can't stand to read his postings,
keep in mind that your mail-reader has a "delete" button -- feel free to use
it.
    Second, if you'd read the original post all the way through, you'd have
seen it was unnecessary to lash out -- he's already chosen to step off the
soapbox:
