Subject: FS: Rusty Syncro w/bad trans
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Gang,

I finally got that 86 Wolfsburg Edition Syncro Westy Weekender home yesterday. I guess that's what it's called.

It's rusty, dents in all the wrong places and the tranny is apart is four boxes. The PO tired to rebuild the trans himself. I comes with the poptop and the lower bunk but has no fridge or stove. Instead, there is a single rear-facing seat, with storage underneath, just behind the driver. Oh yeah, it's supposed to have locking diffs.

I apologize for not getting back sooner to those of you who expressed interest in getting parts. Now that I have it home, I got a chance to further evaluate the situation. I came to the conclusion that it is just beyond my mechanical and financial ability to restore.

It's now for sale to the highest bidder.

Please p-mail me if you have any interest in the vehicle. It is located in South San Francisco, California. This is not for the faint at heart. If there are no takers by June 15th, I will part her out.

BenT San Francisco

PS: I'm in and out of town so please be patient if I'm slow with my replies.
