Considering the amount of trouble that orifice is to get to, I'd suggest something along these lines:

1) open up the combustion chamber and observe the flame in the dark first, with particular attention to its height.

2) If you have access to a stereo microscope, examine the orifice.

3) Clean orifice with alcohol as instructed by Dometic, then blow out with compressed air ditto. Do not touch the orifice with anything solid. If you can't examine the orifice, repeat cleaning/blowing several times.

4) Examine again if you have the scope, and repeat cleaning as necessary. Someone on this list (Marshall Ruskin?) had to repeat the alcohol soak a ridiculous number of times before the orifice opened up.

5) Install and once again observe the flame, comparing against your previous measurements. If the flame is now twice as big or whatever, button it up in confidence that you've actually accomplished something.

6) I've been using high-temp RTV very successfully to replace the silicone rubber combustion-chamber gasket that Bus Boys want $50 for...
