There seems to be an assumption that we are all able to work on our own vehicles. This is just not so. First of all, I'm sure many of us do not have a garage or tools. I, myself do not have a garage and my van is parked in a public lot 1/2 a mile away ($75 per month). Many of us work during the week and have family commitments on weekends that do not allow us the time to spend hours under our vehicles. Also, I'm sure many of us are physically incapable of doing much work. I have back problems that restict what I can do. Bending over an engine compartment is dangerous for me and could easily cause an injury that would put be out of work and lay me up for weeks. All I'm suggesting is that we not automatically assume that we can all do our own work. Most people who have their vehicles serviced by mechanics do it for good reasons.
