Subject: BusDepot Fuel Tank, have you installed one?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

I installed one of Ron's tanks. No problem with fit or finish. Only problem TBD sent the wrong style. One has an approximately 40mm hole for the fill neck and the other has 70mm. I asked for the 40mm but was shipped the 70mm even though I had Dan (I think) double check this before it was shipped. They made good on it quickly, but I'm not sure the shipping has been charged back to my VISA. Ron???

You should probably get the 3 small grommets and the one large grommet around the fill tank. Get a new gasket for your sender as well. And do all those hoses while you have the tank out. You'll know what I mean when you drop the tank. I also did the fuel lines back to the fuel pump.

Also, if you need to replace rusty coolant pipes do this while the tank is dropped. You'll regret it if you don't.

You know, I am somewhat amused by this talk of aftermarket vs. OEM. I love my vanagon and I've loved every VW I've owned. Even that darned superbeetle.

But the fact is, I haven't been real impressed with OEM part's fit and finish. I've yet to find anything magical about Bosch this or OEM that. OEM fails and fails often. Please don't give me a lecture on DM....
