MY thought, which is not an expert one - is that this won't work.

I can't see how the towed vehicle would turn and follow the lead vehicle properly.

However, go to a welding shop, or a hitch place, and mention your idea. If it makes sense, they'll be able to make up a bar.

Remember though, you definitely need a class three hitch, which your hitches most likely (almost certainly) are not.
