Subject: Fridge question ---(Sorry)
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi gang,

Pulled my fridge out on the weekend. General condition of everything is very good (clean --- cleaner now, rust free, all connections look good).Works fine on 120 AC. Took the burner box apart. Cleaned it all up and re-assembled. The ignitor sparks nicely and the intake and exhaust chimneys are all nice and clean. I hooked it up to the barbecue tank (I know there was propane in it since I cooked dinner with the same tank afterwards) and commenced to trying to light the fridge ---- and got nowhere. So I've got a few questions:

!) What is the valve beside (to the right) of the pump/ignitor for? Is this a pilot light? --- the spark from the ignitor seems to jump to the tip of the outlet that leads back to this valve.

2) Is there a way to be sure propane is getting to the burner box. I re-opened the burner box and opened the valves ---- couldn't smell any propane. Would I blow myself up if I put a match to the outlet beside the ignitor??

3) What is the purpose of 'burping' the fridge??? Is this going to help me or does the fact that the fridge works on AC mean this in unnecessary.

4) Is there any indication (other than peering in the window of the burner box) that the thing is lit --- a little popping sound or something???

Any and all advice appreciated. Thank you all in advance. I'm hoping you can help me achieve 'Dometic' bliss........

Cheers, Doug '84 Westy (currently fridgeless) Toronto, Canada
