I believe this has something to do with the ammonia compound that is used as a "refrigerant" settling into a crystalline form after time and lack of use. It helps to resuspend and mix the solution that the system relies on to carry the heat through the system.

Depending on model year (and there are even variations within years) you may have an LED on the same panel that display's your water level and battery state. If you have a fourth green LED under the three Water Level LED's, that is a pilot lamp indicator which will light when the pilot is lit. Using this LED, I find the fridge MUCH easier to light.

Also, try running on AC for about 6 hours prior to lighting on propane. This helps warm the exhaust stack and the convection carries fresh air into the combustion chamber.
