the bosch booklet i have describes the Type designation this way:

on each alternator (somewhere), there is a Type number like this:

TLM( )28v62A11 which breaks down this way: T - stator frame diameter: E=80 to 90 mm G= 100 to 109mm J= 110 to 119mm K=120 to 139mm Q=140 to 169mm T=170 to 199mm U=over 200mm

L - fan installed W - watertight (Syncros might have this?) Z - railroad (locomotive generators (!!???)

M - fitted with intensified interference suppressors A, C, D, F, G, H, V = no uniform arrangement of characteristics for all stator frame diamters (!!??)

( ) = direction of rotation (viewed looking onto the end of the generator opposite the commutator end) -> or R = clockwise rotation <- or L = counterclockwise rotation

28V = generator voltage in volts

62A = maximum current in amperes

11 = speed in 100 rev/min at 2/3 maximum current. (so at 1100 rpm, the alternator is putting out 0.67 times its max current).

hope that helps. :) don't see that particular model listed, but this is an old book. unca joel
