I have a new set of shocks I want install on my 88 Westy. I read about disconnecting this and that and I worry if I can do this job properly. I need some enccouagement and suggestions frommthe list. I will attempt to do this but what should I be watching for? Do I need the spring compressors for the front shocks ? How difficult is it to jack up the control arm ? The bently says there is some kind of plug under the seats that has to be removed... is that for older models... I can't recall seeing a plug, but its been a lonf time sinse I looked... Maybe that was just to access the top of the shock! I know one list member has a web page with this procedure photographed. If anyone should have the URL, I'd appreciate it.
