Is there any reason not to use a VW diesel oil filter on a gas Vanagon (it should fit...)? I recall hearing of this practive by performance guys on early A1 cars to increase the total oil capacity and provide better filtration, so I suppose it shouldn't hurt on the w/b engine either? I need to stock up on filters, and it would be much simpler if I could just buy one type of filter (Bosch most likely) to use on my Jetta TD and Vanagon. Any thoughts? Shawn Wright, I.T.
