I saw a news segment about an Ontario Canada man, who bought a used car....

The used car was actually 2 cars welded together, the front of one and the
rear of another. The chassis (unibody construction, I guess) welds, running
across the bottom of the vehicle, were clearly visible when said vehicle was
raised on the hoist.

Apparently this is done all the time.

(It wasn't a Vanagon, thankfully! But what is actually was - I cannot
remember - some US car is all I know)

Said "Owner" wasn't informed when he bought the car about it's history,
obviously.
