Under the rear mattress I have a 1/2 inch thick sheet of super-dense black foam that heating and cooling contractors use for insulating purposes when installing furnaces and air conditioners. I don't know what it's called but it does a good job of sound proofing and insulating the interior from engine compartment heat. This stuff is also available in six foot length tubes which I've used to wrap the heater hoses under the dash to keep the interior floor area a little cooler in summer. Roy O.
